You might wonder how in the world I came up with the name I've chosen for my farm. I found on the Internet an English to Chinese dictionary. and started playing with words that I believed describe the Miniature Shar-Pei breed. Mei is Chinese for small, zhou is wrinkled, quan is dog.

The MSPCA or Miniature Shar-Pei Club of America is the breed registry organization. Founded in the year 2000 by members from its parent organization, the National Miniature Shar-Pei Club, on its disbanding. The MSPCA is standardizing and carefully developing the Miniature Shar-Pei as a separate breed, distinct from its larger cousin, the Chinese Shar-Pei.

The Breed Standard of the MSPCA:

The Miniature Shar-Pei shall be short, broad, almost square in proportion of body length to height. The most notable characteristic is the abundent, tight wrinkling about the head and body. Height shall not exceed 17 inches at the withers excluding the wrinkles.
